This device consists of an oil contamination detection box, a capacitive alarm switch, and other components. It is installed within the boiler feedwater filtration system to monitor for the ingress of oil contaminants into the water supplied to the boiler, and to subsequently generate an oil contamination alarm signal. The detection box features a well-type structural design; the feedwater pipe enters the box from the top and extends down to the bottom, while the sensing head of the alarm switch is mounted near the water outlet located in the upper section of the unit. When feedwater containing oil contaminants flows into the detection box through the supply piping, the oil separates and floats to the water's surface. Under normal operating conditions, the tip of the alarm switch electrode remains submerged in the water; however, should oil contamination appear on the water's surface, it is immediately detected by the alarm switch, which then outputs a signal to trigger the alarm. Once the accumulated oil contaminants within the detection box have been drained, the detector automatically reverts to its normal operating state.
